WHAT THE FOOTAGE SHOWS
Jason and Lucia work paid jobs together, for several different employers. OFFICIAL
Boobie Ike sends them to collect a package from dealers. OFFICIAL
Police attack during the pickup, and are shown as corrupt. OFFICIAL
The pair escape via a lift. OFFICIAL
A separate sequence: a meeting near a bank. A man arrives carrying a bag, having just robbed it. A police chase follows. OFFICIAL
The man tells them they have passed a test and are hired. OFFICIAL
They visit an older couple at a party - a retired robber. OFFICIAL
A later job: protecting a mob figure arriving by private jet. OFFICIAL
During that job, Jason and Lucia are separated and communicate by earpiece. OFFICIAL
Lucia is unarmed and comes under attack. OFFICIAL
Lucia falls into a lift with her attacker. OFFICIAL
WHAT PEOPLE WILL CLAIM THIS CONFIRMS - AND WHY THEY ARE WRONG
“Co-op is confirmed.” It is not. Jason and Lucia being separated and talking over an earpiece is a single-player mission structure. GTA V did exactly this in 2013 with character switching. Radio contact between two playable characters is not evidence of a second player. RUMOUR
“The package is drugs.” The footage does not say so. It is a reasonable inference from the setting and the people involved, but an inference is not a confirmation. Until Rockstar or the dialogue states it, this is RUMOUR - including in our own reporting.
“Lucia being unarmed confirms a stealth or vulnerability system.” Nothing establishes that. A character being unarmed in one scripted sequence tells you about that sequence, not about a system. RUMOUR
“This is how missions are structured.” Trailer footage is edited. Unless Rockstar labels it as unedited gameplay, the order and pacing you saw are an edit, not a mission design. RUMOUR
