Two editions, a twenty dollar gap between them, and a physical release with no game inside the box. Here is what each one actually contains.

Everything below comes from Rockstar’s pre-order announcement of 24 June 2026 and the reporting of it on the same day. Where something is not settled, this page says so instead of guessing.

THE PRICES

Standard edition: $79.99. Ultimate edition: $99.99. Pre-orders opened on 25 June 2026.

The gap is twenty dollars. What that twenty dollars buys is cosmetic, vehicular and property content, plus one set of side missions. There is no story, no area of the map and no mechanic behind it.

WHAT EVERY PRE-ORDER GETS, INCLUDING STANDARD

These attach to pre-orders of both editions: one month of GTA+, $500,000 in the in-game bank, access to the classic Rockstar titles in the GTA+ Games Library, and the Vintage Vice City Pack, which contains a ‘55 Vapid Stanier, an Ocean Beach garage, outfits, hairstyles and a weapon pattern.

Worth reading carefully: the free GTA+ month and the games library are a subscription trial, not a permanent grant.

WHAT THE ULTIMATE EDITION ADDS

Vehicles: a ‘95 Grotti Cheetah, a Dinka Enduro motorcycle, a Crest kayak, a Shitzu Squalo watercraft and a ‘67 Vapid Dominator Buggy.

Weapons: Hawk and Little Morgan revolvers, plus personalised Girardi ES9 and Klose K17 pistols with engravings.

Clothing and accessories: Vice City-style outfits, tattoos, accessories, Stock 305 streetwear and the Goodtime Gear collection.

Customisation: the Ganado Retro Build kit, Rideout Customs donk stylings and more than fifty Electric Fang tattoos.

Locations: Sara’s Unisex Salon, One-Eyed Willie’s mod shop, the Pit Youngin$ Illegal Goods Store, Paradise Garage and a Shore Court personal garage.

Activities: the Classic Car Collection restoration missions, given by a fixer named Wyman.

IS THE EXTRA TWENTY DOLLARS WORTH IT

Nobody can answer that yet, and anyone who tells you they can has not played it either.

What can honestly be said: every item on the Ultimate list is cosmetic, a vehicle, a property or a side activity. If you do not care about car collections, clothing and garages, the twenty dollars buys you very little. If you do, it buys a lot of it at once, and buying the same things separately later would probably cost more.

VERAX rates any “is it worth it” verdict published before release as SPECULATION, including this one.

THERE IS NO DISC

This is the part that keeps surprising people, so it is worth stating plainly.

The Ultimate edition is digital only. There is no boxed version of it at all.

The physical Standard edition sold in shops is a box containing a download code. There is no disc inside it. Physical versions go on sale on 12 November, the same day pre-load opens.

So a physical copy does not let you install from the box, does not work without downloading the game, and is not a collectible in the way a disc is.

TWO RETAILERS ARE REFUSING TO STOCK IT

Two specialist retailers said publicly on 24 June 2026 that they will not carry the physical release: Video Games Plus, a North American chain, and Loot Box Gaming in the United States. Both cite a standing company policy of not selling boxed console products that contain only a download code. Both have said they would reconsider if a version with an actual disc appeared.

Two shops will not dent the sales of this game and nobody should pretend otherwise. It is worth knowing because it is the clearest statement anyone in the trade has made about what is actually in the box.

WHAT IS NOT KNOWN

Whether a disc version will ever exist. Whether the Ultimate content will be sold separately later. Whether the pre-order bonuses will be offered again after launch. Rockstar has said nothing about any of the three, so neither will this page.
